Hmm.......I'll add that one to my list of marathons to chew on. And it would definitely be one to consider for next year.Terzahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10617301871875902162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5330212736054651223.post-67420261094395970712012-04-28T07:23:37.333-06:002012-04-28T07:23:37.333-06:00I totally understand - fear not! You're still ...I totally understand - fear not! You're still young ;)I've had a serious back/SI/pelvic injury (it was my first real running injury way back in the 80s!) and they are frustrating and constantly painful. And I've had my share of other injuries, especially post-pregnancy. Keep the faith. Someday this will be behind you.

And...Not to encourage you to do something stupid...but...you should checkout the "leading Ladies" Marathon in Spearfish, SD (it's a reasonable drive ~ 7 hours), and a downhill course, lower elevation, and you're treated like a queen! I may try to do the half for NYC training.Caolan MacMahonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10371711289185833824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5330212736054651223.post-45500820608484408492012-04-27T22:02:52.263-06:002012-04-27T22:02:52.263-06:00I totally understand this decision. You feel cheat...I totally understand this decision. You feel cheated and want another shot. I don't think you'll regret it (unless of course you have sucky un-workable weather again--but that won't be your fault).

With my back injury, I'm out for another three months and therefore won't have as much time as I'd like to train for my marathon in October. I'm looking at 2014 as my Boston year at the soonest--unless I too sign up for an earlier race (early September at the latest) that my body might not be ready for. I am doing my damnedest to maintain my cardio on the bike, and my heart rates are good. But my husband says a September race is not a good idea. He's looking at the long haul, and on many levels I know he's right. But I'd really like to be in Boston in 2013. Should I go for it and find a good September marathon? Or is that just so unrealistic given I can't run (with the possible exception of pool or Alter-G running) until mid-July?Terzahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10617301871875902162noreply@blogger.com
